Quote
of the day
Funny how it's
only the regimes that support socialism (preferably of a racialist tendency)
or anti-modern theocracy that are deemed worthy of "peace" protestor
support.

Leftist anti-war confusions
In the article I have
highlighted in the "Quote of the day" above, Antoine Clarke
at Samizdata points
out the hypocrisy of anti-war arguments among what is so accurately
described as the "Communist Dictator Defence League"

'Decent' claim
is ludicrous
JIMI BOSTOCK, Curtin
Saturday, 4 January 2003
THE Howard Government's
terror ads are despicable. Suggesting that Australians are "decent"
is a lot of rot.
The last federal
election and Howard's popularity attest to how indecent Australians
are. While we remain the only nation to practise mandatory detention
of asylum seekers, any such claim is ludicrous.
The terror ads
show Howard has decided that his promise to make us relaxed and comfortable
was non-core. His power is entirely based on making us scared and feeling
vulnerable.
This "terrorist"
bogeyman is a fictional character that is able to be transformed into
any nation, be it Iraq or North Korea. All I know is that some of my
heroes have been terrorists, or labelled as such. Che Guevara and Mandela
are just a couple of them.
My enemy is the
United States of America, Israel, and capitalism. Howard doesn't need
my neighbours to dob me in - I would blow those three evils sky high.
Unfortunately, I do not have the means, so ASIO can relax. I believe
that it is now the greatest honour to be called a terrorist. The better
moniker would be "freedom fighter".
No, the better moniker
in your case is sociopath. Though for the majority of the modern
left, this pretty much goes without saying.
